Job Summary
We are seeking a Project Manager 3 for our Insourcing Solutions site located in Poolesville, MD.
As the Project Manager 3, you will plan, organize, and direct the activities of all staff at the Poolesville contract site, as well as serves as the representative for the company in the day to day operations and customer/client interactions.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Oversee and manage supervisors and staff.
- Review and analyze operational needs, and make recommendations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of all services.
- Oversee the implementation of the training plan, technical trainer and supervisors’ development of course content, and materials for training and continuing education of the staff.
- Develop, write, and implement standard operating procedures.
- Design, plan, organize, and execute disaster preparedness documentation and emergency procedures.
- Coordinate or monitor the movement of people and animals throughout the facility.
- Conduct or participate in interviews of applicants for open positions.
- Monitor performance of employees and conduct periodic performance evaluations.
- Provide data entry/data base report generation for computerized systems.
- Prepare and submit required written records, charts, logs and inventories.
- Oversee and/or schedule the maintenance of the facility and all animal care equipment.
- Establish specifications for recommendations for the selection and purchase of animal care related equipment.
- Interact with client representatives to facilitate the resolution of problems related to the allocation of space, use of equipment, efficient use of personnel, diagnosis of and control of disease, provisions of animal care and adequate veterinary care.
Job Qualifications
The following are minimum requirements related to the Project Manager 3 position:
- Bachelor of Science in Animal Science or related field required
- 4-6 years management/supervisory experience with multiple position types, some of which is in an AAALAC accredited facility
- Facility management experience with NHP species required, rodent/ungulate species preferred
- AALAS certification at the Laboratory Animal Technologist level (LATG) and CMAR, can be considered in lieu of BS. ILAM preferred
The pay range for this position is $53 to $58 USD per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
